Description

A pair of RSS XL two-piece front lower control arms for lowered vehicles with reduced-travel struts/dampers. Includes adjustable non-hydraulic thrust-arm bushings, spherical monoball ends and 1, 2, 3 and 7 mm shims.

RSS uses billet 6061 aluminum, anodized surfaces and zinc-plated steel parts for strength and corrosion resistance. Replaceable inner/outer assemblies and Teflon-lined steel spherical bearings support serviceability. Solid joints reduce rubber-bushing deflection; geometry adjustments address camber and roll-center height.

Engineered and manufactured in the USA. The Tarmac range’s competition history includes 2013 Grand-Am GX, 2014 Spanish tarmac rally and 2015 Pirelli World Challenge TC results. Additional sensor brackets may be required; consult the supplied fitment charts. The optional 389 XL sensor-bracket set adds $60.

Fitment & Compatibility

Front axle only: 986, 996, 997 GT3/RS and 997 GT2/RS. For lowered vehicles with reduced-travel struts/dampers; non-hydraulic thrust-arm setup. Follow the part-specific chart rather than the broader Tarmac range description. Not compatible with long-travel base-model struts/dampers, including those fitted with lowering springs, due to potential binding at full droop. Off-road use only.

Installation

Use a qualified installer and follow the RSS fitment and installation guides. Tapered studs are single-use: do not move or reuse an installed stud in another taper. Use calibrated non-impact torque tools and the specified torque. Check full-droop clearance and replace hardware as required.
