The Levinson Performance Shift Knob retains the factory appearance, dimensions, and installation method while dramatically improving the tactile connection between you and your Porsche’s gearbox. Precision-machined from solid stainless steel, it weighs an impressive 458 grams, nearly 7 times heavier than the original 68 gram factory knob, giving every gear change a smoother, more precise, and more mechanical feel.

Unlike universal aftermarket knobs, ours installs exactly like Porsche intended. An integrated nylon core duplicates the factory cam-lock attachment for the shift boot, creating a true OEM-style installation with no adapters, set screws, or exposed hardware. The nylon insert also isolates the steel body from the shift lever, reducing vibration transfer and preventing the knob from feeling harsh in use.

Installing the Levinson Performance Shift Knob

Step 1 - Install the knob

Align the new knob with the shift lever and press it straight downward until it seats fully.

You may need to apply firm pressure.

Step 2 - Attach the shift boot

Slide the shift boot back up toward the knob.

The nylon cam-lock inside the Levinson knob duplicates the original Porsche design.

Rotate the plastic collar counter-clockwise relative to the knob until it engages the cam-lock. Continue rotating until it clicks securely into place. The boot should now be firmly attached to the knob exactly like the factory installation.

Step 3 - Verify alignment

Check that the seam of the shift boot points straight toward the rear of the vehicle.

If the seam is rotated 90° off-center, simply unlock the cam-lock, reposition the boot, and reconnect it.

Final Check

Before driving:

Verify the knob is fully seated on the shift lever.
Confirm the shift boot is securely locked to the knob.
Cycle through all gears to ensure smooth operation.
