Description

Levinson Performance Layered Hardwood Manual Shift Knob

Pre-production orders: shipping is expected in late November 2026 for all versions, including five-speed and six-speed options.

Production Confirmed—Pre-Production Pricing Still Available

Thanks to the enthusiastic response from the Porsche community, we reached our initial goal of 30 pre-orders. This limited-production shift knob is officially moving forward.

For a limited time, you can still reserve yours at the special pre-production price of $159. Once finished products begin shipping, the regular price will be $199.

For years, Porsche enthusiasts have admired the beautiful layered-hardwood shift knob inspired by the legendary 718 race car and offered on the limited-production 992 Carrera T. Unfortunately, Porsche never created a comparable option for the 997-generation 911 or the 987 Cayman and Boxster.

Until now.

The Levinson Performance Layered Hardwood Shift Knob brings that timeless, heritage-inspired appearance to the 997 and 987 manual-transmission models.

This is not a cosmetic overlay or a modified factory part. It is a completely new replacement shift handle engineered with the correct factory-style internal cam-lock attachment—no set screws—along with the proper forward-offset ergonomics, a genuine laminated exotic-hardwood ball, and your choice of a five- or six-speed shift pattern.

  • Porsche 997 911 manual-transmission models, 2005–2012

A Detail Worth Touching Every Time You Drive

The shift knob is one of the few parts of your Porsche you interact with on every drive. This design combines a distinctive piece of Porsche heritage with the fit, function, and driving position your 997 or 987 deserves.

Reserve yours at the $159 pre-production price before finished products begin shipping and the regular $199 pricetakes effect.

Installation

Installing the Levinson Performance Shift Knob

Step 1 - Install the knob

Align the new knob with the shift lever and press it straight downward until it seats fully.

You may need to apply firm pressure.

Step 2 - Attach the shift boot

Slide the shift boot back up toward the knob.

The nylon cam-lock inside the Levinson knob duplicates the original Porsche design.

Rotate the plastic collar counter-clockwise relative to the knob until it engages the cam-lock. Continue rotating until it clicks securely into place. The boot should now be firmly attached to the knob exactly like the factory installation.

Step 3 - Verify alignment

Check that the seam of the shift boot points straight toward the rear of the vehicle.

If the seam is rotated 90° off-center, simply unlock the cam-lock, reposition the boot, and reconnect it.

Final Check

Before driving:

  • Verify the knob is fully seated on the shift lever.
  • Confirm the shift boot is securely locked to the knob.
  • Cycle through all gears to ensure smooth operation.
