Description

A harmonically damped RSS underdrive pulley for street and track use, particularly engines with lightweight flywheels, increased displacement or demanding operating conditions.

RSS says the pulley reduces accessory drive losses at the steering pump, air-conditioning compressor, coolant pump and alternator while maintaining their function. Damping is intended to limit internal engine harmonics and support efficiency and durability.

An installation wrench and a new factory pulley washer are included. A vehicle-specific new crankshaft pulley bolt is recommended and is not included. The correctly sized 6PK belt is available as a $55 option. Made in the USA.

The supplier's illustrated test on a 2005 997.1 Carrera S recorded a 16 hp and 8 lb-ft increase after adding this pulley. The test car already had Cargraphic headers, 200-cell catalysts and sport mufflers, with factory software; results depend on the vehicle.

Fitment & Compatibility

Applicable Porsche 986, 987, 996 and 997 engines. Excludes 2.9-liter engines with the multi-hole crank-pulley pattern, DFI engines, GT2, GT3 and Turbo.

Installation

Use a new crankshaft pulley bolt specified for the vehicle and the correct belt length. Follow the manufacturer's installation instructions and all engine exclusions.
