997/987 Suspension Mini-Pack #2

Technical guide downloads

(This is the same as our Suspension Mega-Pack #3 without GT3-style lower control arms.)

Transform the handling of your Porsche 997 911 or 987 Cayman/Boxster with one complete suspension package engineered to maximize precision, stability, and driver confidence. By combining our Adjustable Rear Toe Links and Adjustable Front Tension Links, this kit gives you the additional adjustability needed to properly align a lowered Porsche for aggressive street driving, autocross, or track use.

What’s Included

Adjustable Rear Toe Link Set ($209)
Provides precise rear toe adjustment over a much wider range than stock, making proper alignment possible after lowering while improving high-speed stability, corner exit traction, and overall chassis balance.

Adjustable Front Tension Link Set ($290)
Allows caster to be optimized for improved steering feel, increased straight-line stability, and stronger self-centering while adding valuable dynamic camber gain during cornering.

The Complete Alignment Solution

These two components work together to provide the alignment flexibility that Porsche enthusiasts and track drivers demand. Whether you’re dialing in a comfortable street setup or chasing lap times, the Suspension Mini-Pack allows your alignment shop to achieve settings that simply aren’t possible with factory components.

Save $25

Purchased individually:

• Adjustable Rear Toe Link Set ………. $209
• Adjustable Front Tension Link Set ….. $290

Recommended Performance Alignments

The following alignment settings are intended as proven starting points for lowered Porsche 997 Carrera models equipped with the Levinson Performance Suspension Mega-Pack. Final settings should always be optimized for tire type, ride height, driver preference, and intended use.

Street Performance

Front Camber: -1.6°
Rear Camber: -1.9°
Front Toe: 0.00°
Rear Toe: 0.10° toe-in per side
Caster: Maximum equal left and right
Thrust Angle: 0.00°

Dual-Purpose Street & Track

Front Camber: -2.2°
Rear Camber: -2.2°
Front Toe: 0.03° toe-out per side
Rear Toe: 0.10° toe-in per side
Caster: Maximum equal left and right
Thrust Angle: 0.00°

Track / 200TW & R-Compound Tires

Front Camber: -2.8° to -3.2°
Rear Camber: -2.3° to -2.5°
Front Toe: 0.05° toe-out per side
Rear Toe: 0.10° to 0.12° toe-in per side
Caster: Maximum equal left and right
Thrust Angle: 0.00°

Alignment Tuning Guide

Increase Front Camber

  • Improves front-end grip
  • Reduces outside shoulder tire wear
  • Increases turn-in response
  • Allows later braking and higher cornering speeds

Increase Rear Camber

  • Improves rear grip under high cornering loads
  • Increases stability through fast sweepers
  • Excessive rear camber can reduce braking and acceleration traction

Increase Front Toe-Out

  • Faster steering response
  • Sharper initial turn-in
  • Improved rotation in slower corners
  • Increased tire wear if excessive

Increase Rear Toe-In

  • Improves straight-line stability
  • Better braking stability
  • Increased traction during corner exit
  • More confidence at high speed

Reduce Rear Toe-In

  • Quicker rotation
  • More responsive rear end
  • Easier trail braking
  • Less forgiving at the limit

Increase Positive Caster

  • Improved steering feel
  • Stronger self-centering
  • Better straight-line stability
  • Increased dynamic negative camber while cornering
  • Improved steering precision without sacrificing tire wear

Rear Thrust Angle
Always adjust to 0.00° for:

  • Straight tracking
  • Centered steering wheel
  • Balanced left/right handling
  • Predictable braking and acceleration

Recommended Ride Height

These settings assume a vehicle lowered approximately 25-35 mm (1.0-1.4 inches) from factory ride height using performance springs or coilovers.

Corner balancing is strongly recommended for vehicles used in HPDE, autocross, or racing.

Tire Temperature Target

For 200TW and R-compound tires:

  • Front tire temperatures should be nearly even across the tread.
  • Rear inside temperatures should typically be 5-10°F (3-6°C) warmer than the outside edge.

Adjust camber based on tire temperature readings and wear patterns whenever possible.

Quick Handling Adjustments

Want sharper turn-in?
→ Add a small amount of front toe-out.

Want more front grip?
→ Increase negative front camber.

Want better corner exit traction?
→ Increase rear toe-in slightly.

Want more rotation?
→ Reduce rear toe-in slightly.

Want greater high-speed stability?
→ Maximize caster and increase rear toe-in slightly.

Want improved tire life?
→ Reduce front toe-out and avoid excessive negative camber.

Note: These recommendations are intended as baseline settings for performance-oriented 997 Carrera models equipped with adjustable suspension components. Final alignment should always be tailored to vehicle configuration, tire selection, driving style, and track conditions.
